Hayle Estuary
This most south-westerly estuary in the UK
The Hayle Estuary is a good
place to watch birds in autumn and winter. Because it never freezes, it
is important for migrating and wintering wildfowl, such as wigeons, teals
and shelducks, and waders, such as dunlins, curlews and grey plovers.

Hides and viewpoints: There
are good views from the Eric Grace Memorial hide at Ryan's Field and the
public car parks around the estuary. Parking at The Old Quay House Inn
at the western end is permitted outside opening hours and provides excellent
views across the mudflats.
